LONDON — The U.K. government has released the membership of the Scientific Advisory Group of Emergencies (SAGE), the main scientific body advising ministers on the coronavirus.
The government had resisted calls to name the groups members, saying some had faced death threats and it was necessary to protect their identities to guarantee the impartiality of their advice.
But pressure to release the names grew after the Guardian revealed that the prime ministers top adviser, Dominic Cummings, had joined SAGE meetings and asked questions, with some members saying they felt worried about the impact of his presence on the quality and direction of the advice given.
