UAE counts on tourism in current season to stimulate economy

Abu Dhabi, (Business News Report)|| The United Arab Emirates is counting on the tourism sector for the current season, to move the wheel of the economy further.

The UAE is expecting a good tourism season, in light of expectations to attract more customers around the world after the setback of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Six main factors will enhance the opportunities for the tourism sector in the UAE in the coming months, starting with the figures and data of the aviation sector in the country, the return of most travel destinations to and from the country to work according to the levels of 2019 and before, the competitiveness of the tourism sector in the country, the efficiency of efforts to control the health situation, the shopping centers and a list of resorts and hotels, and the exceptional shopping events and offers offered by the malls during the summer festivals.

These factors indicate that the country is on the verge of a promising summer tourist season that will contribute to strengthening the country’s position as a leading tourist destination throughout the year.

As long as the return of the aviation sector to work as usual, it is close to what it was for the numbers recorded during 2019 and before.

Dubai International Airport announced its readiness to receive 2.4 million passengers during the period from June 24 to July 4, bringing the average daily number of passengers to 214,000.

On the other hand, Etihad Airways is preparing to receive large numbers of passengers from Abu Dhabi International Airport between June 30 and July 15, 2022, according to a recent press release.

Statistics issued by the Ministry of Economy confirm that the tourism sector in the UAE has entered the stage of recovery and recovery again, as hotel establishments achieved 11 billion dirhams ($2.99 billion) in revenues for the first quarter of this year, with a growth rate of 20 percent compared to the same period in 2019.

The occupancy rate of hotels reached 80% in the first quarter of this year, which succeeded in attracting nearly 6 million visitors who spent 25 million hotel nights, a growth of 10% compared to the same period in 2019.

The system of entry visas (tourist visa), multiple entry for five years without guarantee, recently introduced by the UAE, constitutes an important factor in reviving the tourism sector during the coming period.

The influx of millions of tourists from different countries of the world, especially since this visa enables the beneficiary to stay in the country for up to 90 continuous days, which may be extended for a similar period, provided that the entire stay period does not exceed 180 days in one year.

The UAE had announced many residency options, and it has become one of the most flexible countries in the world in the ease of completing residency and visit procedures.
