PARIS — Emmanuel Macron asked the United Kingdom to “show flexibility” during negotiations over its future relationship with the European Union in the coming year.
“It will be a complex negotiation that should be approached in cold blood by our negotiator Michel Barnier,” Macron said Tuesday in a statement to the press delivered alongside visiting Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković in Paris.
He laid out two principles that should guide the negotiation.
