NEW DELHI: Shares of Unitech, Nakoda and Sundaram Multi Pap cracked over 10 per cent on NSE on Wednesday.
Stocks such as, Transwarranty Finance, Kirloskar Electric Company, Rainbow Papers and Pearl Global Industries declined over 8 per cent on NSE.
However, contrary to the bearish market sentiment, shares of SPL Industries, DIC India, Ortin Laboratories and Lycos Internet zoomed up to 20 per cent on NSE.
Equity benchmarks Nifty50 and Sensex closed Wednesday's session in the negative zone, extending the losses for the second consecutive session.
The Nifty50 index closed 47 points down at 10,193, whereas the BSE Sensex ended Wednesday's session 175 points down at 33,053.
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation, Indian Oil Corporation, Kotak Mahindra Bank, UltraTech Cement, Eicher Motors, Tata Consultancy Services and Bharti Infratel stood among the top gainers in the Nifty50 index.
Vedanta, Cipla, Adani Ports, Bajaj Finance, Hindalco Industries and State Bank of India were among the losers among the Nifty stocks.
As many as 57 stocks hit fresh 52-week highs on NSE, while 18 hit fresh 52-week lows.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 16 settled in the green, while 34 in the red on Wednesday.
