The Atlantic Council announced Friday the rescheduling of the 2022 Atlantic Council Global Energy Forum to March 28-29, 2022.
The forum, which will be held in Dubai, UAE, will once again bring together the most influential energy leaders from around the world to set the energy agenda for the coming year.
“As the global energy system faces unprecedented challenges and promising new innovations, it is more important than ever for leaders around the world to collaborate in person to advance the energy transition,” said Randy Bell, senior director of the Atlantic Council’s Global Energy Centre.

“The recent sharp rise in COVID-19 cases in the United States due to the Omicron variant made it necessary to postpone the 2022 Global Energy Forum. We are confident the new event dates and location will allow for an even more impactful and engaging convening.”
The World Energy Forum is part of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week. It will be held on the new date in conjunction with the timing of the World Government Summit 2022, the global event that highlights the tools, policies and models necessary to shape future governments.
On its new date, the Forum will benefit from the wonderful opportunities that the Expo will offer in its closing week.
However, the World Energy Forum is hosting virtual programs this month as part of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (which is taking place as scheduled) to complement the mission of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week in accelerating global action on climate issues.
These programs also include discussions on the outcomes of the Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 26) and dialogues on the agenda of COP 27 and 28 conferences.
The annual flagship publication, The Global Energy Agenda, will be launched by the Atlantic Council’s Global Energy Center.
It will also highlight the various paths leading to the zero-sum, and discuss the role of hydrogen in establishing a carbon-free energy system.

In a separate context, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority announced the provision of its smart services through Alexa devices from Amazon in the Arabic language.
Thus, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority will be the first government service organization in the world to provide its services in the Arabic language through this innovative technology.
Customers are now able to view the monthly bill details in Arabic, previous bill history, electricity and water consumption details, and their carbon footprint, in addition to linking their accounts with the authority with their other accounts on Amazon.
Customers can also benefit from Ramas, the authority’s virtual employee based on artificial intelligence, via Alexa devices in Arabic, to get answers to their questions and inquiries.
