With all the tumultuous weather that we have been experiencing recently, you may be finding yourself checking your smartphone’s weather app a lot more than usual.

We all love to take a screenshot of the weekly weather on our weather app during a heatwave or when we are going on holiday to a tropical haven to show our friends the continuous days of sunshine we will be basking under.

There are several basic symbols which tell you about the changing weather, especially if a storm or snow is approaching, as we have experienced recently.

These days, most people refer to modern devices like smartphones, tablets, and other gadgets for such information.

However, there are different symbols on your smartphone’s weather app that specify different meanings.

One symbol that may cloud your judgement (no pun intended) may be the symbol that shows a cloud with two lines.

This can be found on Apple iOS weather apps and its meaning has caused confusion on various forums.

What does cloud with two lines mean?

According to Apple, the symbol in the weather app in iOS means the area you are currently in or searching for is experiencing fog.

The three swirly lines has also been seen recently, which you might not have noticed before – this represents the weather being windy.

They also say that the weather data used in the Weather app comes from The Weather Channel.
