You probably have all sorts of fun, sexy and legally questionable photos you’d rather no-one saw.

But it would be a shame to let those sinful moments disappear entirely, so you keep them on your iPhone anyway – risking embarrassment whenever you show other pics to friends or family members.

Luckily, Apple has got your back.

You can hide photos away in a special ‘hidden’ folder which means they can be perused at any time, but are kept away from the main photo feed.

All you need to do is select the pictures you want to hide away and press the little menu icon in the bottom left of the screen.

You’ll then be presented with two little bars.

Swipe right on the bottom one and select ‘hide photos’.

If you want to find them again, just open the Photos app and press ‘Albums’ at the bottom right of the menu bar.

You can then go into the Hidden folder and relive all your x-rated or inexcusable moments.

If you want to release the pictures from their vault, just open them up, click the options icon and then press ‘unhide’.

Be warned: the Hidden folder doesn’t have a password.

It’s useful if you want to let someone peruse your photos without being troubled by your growing gallery of dick pics, for instance, or whatever other graphic images you’ve been collecting.

However, once someone has access to your phone they could simply go to your Hidden album and find out about all those dirty secrets you tried to hide.

So if you really don’t want someone to see a photo, you’re best off deleting it altogether.

In fact, if you’re really serious about living life without having to worry about any compromising images suddenly resurfacing, we’ve got a better idea: don’t take any photos of yourself doing anything you wouldn’t want your mum to know about.
