Salalah, (Business News Report)|| Fifty Yemeni amputees have regained movement and hope after rehabilitation at the Arabic Center for Prosthetics (ACP) in Salalah.
“The center concluded the treatment trip for the 13th batch of war-affected wounded with a sporting event within the framework of an integrated rehabilitation program,” ACP’s Director, Abdel Wahab Al-Amer, said.
“The batch, which included 50 wounded Yemenis, including children, received medical care, installed prosthetic limbs, and enjoyed several sporting and recreational activities within a psychological support program,” he said.
Al-Amer indicated that the ACP, a humanitarian and charitable project, rehabilitated 800 wounded in line with international standards, with the support and facilities provided by the Sultanate of Oman.
Four-year-old child Hamed Mustafa, the only survivor of his family, was one of the beneficiaries. He lost three of his brothers and his right lower limb a year ago in the city of Taiz after a shell targeted his home.
After two weeks of training at the ACP, Hamed can now walk on his prosthetic limb and play his favorite games after a year of deprivation.
Sheikh Hamoud Saeed Al-Mikhlafi, founder of the center, during a farewell call to the batch, expressed his thanks to the government, the people, and the Sultan of Oman for all their humanitarian efforts for Yemen and Yemenis.
The wounded valued the charitable efforts of the ACP, which brought them back hope and smile, expressing their appreciation and gratitude for Oman’s humanitarian work for the war-affected wounded.
