NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks United Breweries (up 3.23 per cent), Tata Global Beverages (up 1.60 per cent), Hindustan Unilever (up 1.40 per cent) and Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Healthcare (up 1.27 per cent) were trading up in afternoon trade on Wednesday.
The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.42 per cent up at 26,464 around 12:35 pm (IST).
Shares of United Spirits (up 0.63 per cent), Marico (up 0.58 per cent), Emami (up 0.50 per cent), Dabur India (up 0.39 per cent), Godrej Industries (up 0.32 per cent) and ITC (up 0.13 per cent) were also in the green.
However, shares of GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare (down 1.43 per cent), Colgate-Palmolive (India) (down 1.12 per cent), Godrej Consumer Products (down 1.11 per cent), Britannia Industries (down 0.28 per cent) and Jubilant Foodworks (down 0.08 per cent) were in the red around that time.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was 49 points up at 10,289, while the BSE Sensex was 144 points up at 33,372.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 37 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.
Shares of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bharat Petroleum Corporation, Indian Oil Corporation, Bharti Infratel and Hindustan Unilever were among the top gainers in the Nifty50 index.
However, Vedanta, HCL Tech, Power Grid, Adani Ports SEZ, ICICI Bank and Bajaj Finance were among the losers.
