A French court ordered Amazon to restrict its business to essential items such as food and medical supplies until a risk assessment of the companys health and safety measures has been carried out.
The court in Nanterre found that Amazon had “disregarded its obligation of safety and prevention of health [risks] towards its employees,” according to a judgment seen by AFP. The restriction will come into effect “within 24 hours.”
The case was taken to court by trade union Sud Solidaires, which demanded the closure of Amazons six distribution centers in France.
