NEW DELHI: Infosys (Rs 620.99 crore), Tata Consultancy Services (Rs 248.92 crore) and ICICI Bank (Rs 103.63 crore) were among the most active stocks in terms of value on NSE in morning trade on Monday.
State Bank of India (Rs 99.54 crore), Tata Motors (Rs 75.68 crore), Ashok Leyland (Rs 72.27 crore), Tata Steel (Rs 72.05 crore), BPCL (Rs 66.46 crore), Maruti Suzuki (Rs 57.88 crore) and Axis Bank (Rs 53.44 crore) were also in the same league.
Domestic benchmark indices opened on a negative note on Monday weighed down by a 4 per cent drop in Infosys, following the IT major's less-than-expected FY19 revenue guidance. Weakness in Asian markets on air strikes in Syria by US-led alliance too hurt the domestic sentiment.
The NSE Nifty index was trading 16 points down at 10,465, while BSE Sensex was down 72 points at 34,121 around 09:45 am (IST).
Cipla, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Grasim Industries, Lupin and NTPC were among the top gainers in the Nifty index.
On the contrary, Infosys, Wipro, Tata Motors, GAIL (India) and Tech Mahindra were among the top losers in the Nifty pack of stocks.
