We all know that sentimentally sells much more than sex these days – and this is never truer than in the lead up to Christmas.

We’ve already seen soppy and heartwarming adverts from the likes of John Lewis, Coca Cola and Aldi.

Now Apple has released its own festive commercial, which shows off the iPhone X and AirPods, which are Apple’s cool wireless earphones.

It features two New York City dancers called Lauren Yalango-Grant and Christopher Grant, who are actually married in real life.

The ad shows Lauren walking down a chilly, snow-covered street, before she is suddenly transported into a different world when she puts on her Airpods.

She meets Lauren, inserts one headphone into his ear before dancing through the streets and up buildings, ending up back on the ground where they almost kiss.

Sadly, the pair of lovebirds snap back to reality when the AirPods are removed and go their separate ways

The ad ends with Apple’s slogan: ‘Move someone this holiday.’

It first aired in the US yesterday to mark Thanksgiving and will be shown on British television from November 25.
