NEW DELHI: Most metal shares were trading in the red in Wednesday's session.
Shares of Welspun Corp (down 2.67 per cent), Jindal Stainless (Hisar) (down 1.44 per cent), Hindustan Copper (down 0.82 per cent) and Jindal Steel & Power (down 0.68 per cent) were the worst performers in the index.
Hindustan Zinc (down 0.66 per cent), Coal India (down 0.60 per cent) and NMDC (down 0.53 per cent) too were trading in the red.
The Nifty Metal index was trading 0.18 per cent up at 3,154.7 on Wednesday.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 58.45 points at 10,744.05 while BSE Sensex was up 248.3 points at 35761.44 at 12:17 pm.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Ashok Leyland, Idea Cellular, ICICI Bank, L&T Fin Holding, Infosys, SBI, Indian Oil Corp, Vedanta, Sun Pharma, Bank of Baroda, NTPC, Tata Steel, ONGC and Bharti Airtel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
