Dubai – Middle East Paper Manufacturing and Production Company, known as Mabko, announced that its net profit decreased by 9.9 percent during the third quarter of 2026. The company’s net earnings fell to 12.9 million Saudi riyals, which is equivalent to approximately 3.4 million US dollars. This figure represents a notable drop compared to the 14.3 million riyals recorded in the same period of the previous year.
Quarterly Performance And Operational Challenges
The financial results also showed a significant quarterly contraction when compared to the second quarter of the current year. On a sequential basis, net profit declined by 15.6 percent from the 15.3 million riyals achieved in the second quarter. The company attributed this downward trend primarily to a rise in general and administrative expenses. Additionally, the firm recorded impairment losses on financial assets, contrasting with the reversal of such losses in the comparable prior period.
Revenue Growth Amidst Higher Costs
Despite the pressure on profitability, total revenues experienced a modest increase during the reporting period. Sales revenue grew by 2 percent to reach 284.7 million riyals, or roughly 75.7 million US dollars. This growth was measured against the 279 million riyals generated in the corresponding quarter of 2025. Management explained that this improvement stemmed from an enhanced sales mix, which helped raise average selling prices and offset lower sales volumes.
Nine Month Financial Summary
Looking at the broader nine-month performance for 2026, the company posted further positive developments in top-line figures. Total revenues rose by 1.7 percent to 827 million riyals, up from 813.2 million riyals in the same timeframe last year. This expansion was supported by better product pricing and increased sales quantities within the manufacturing sector. Consequently, net profit for the first nine months increased by 5.3 percent to 26.2 million riyals, compared to 24.9 million riyals previously.
