The United Bank has entered into a strategic memorandum of understanding with the Egyptian Exporters Association, known as Expolink. This partnership is designed to bolster national efforts to strengthen the export sector and enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian products in international markets. The agreement focuses on providing comprehensive financial, banking, and consulting solutions that assist exporting companies in expanding their operations and achieving sustainable growth.

Strategic Alignment and Financial Solutions

The collaboration leverages the specialized expertise of Expolink in export development and market access, combined with the United Bank’s financial capabilities. The primary objective is to increase foreign currency inflows and contribute to broader economic growth rates. Tarek Fayed, Managing Director and CEO of the United Bank, emphasized that supporting productive and export sectors is central to the bank’s strategy. He stated that enhancing the ability of Egyptian companies to compete and expand abroad is a key pillar in supporting the national economy.

Fayed outlined that the cooperation will offer a suite of flexible financing programs for pre- and post-shipment operations. These include working capital facilities, letters of credit, guarantee lines, and specific solutions for international transactions. The bank also aims to mitigate exchange rate fluctuation risks. Special attention is being directed toward small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and new exporters through tailored financial and advisory services supported by specialized teams.

Operational Reach and Digital Services

To ensure accessibility, the United Bank utilizes its network of 68 branches distributed across the country, with a particular focus on Upper Egypt and the Delta regions. The bank deploys specialized workforces to serve companies in various governorates. Additionally, it provides integrated digital solutions through its corporate internet banking service, which offers 14 digital banking services to facilitate the speed and efficiency of financial transaction management.

Leadership Perspectives

Mohamed Qassem, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Expolink, expressed pride in the partnership, describing it as a significant step toward developing services for exporters. He noted that flexible financing is crucial for executing expansion plans, particularly for SMEs and newcomers to the export market. Qassem explained that the memorandum relies on the complementarity of both parties: Expolink connects companies to external markets, while the United Bank provides the necessary financial tools.

Qassem affirmed that Expolink is committed to widening the base of beneficiaries for export support services. By strengthening cooperation with banking institutions, the association aims to raise the competitiveness of Egyptian companies and support state targets for increasing exports. The partnership reflects the United Bank’s strategic commitment to viewing export growth as directly linked to the strength and sustainability of the national economy.

The memorandum was signed by Mohamed Qassem and Tarek Fayed. The ceremony was attended by senior executives from both organizations. Representatives from Expolink included Ahmed Taha, Executive Director; Mariem Rustom, Senior Manager of the Executive Office and Secretary of the Board; Rana Magdy, Export Development Manager; and Ahmed Al-Ashry, Director of Financial and Legal Affairs, who also acts as Acting Executive Director.
