Share market update: Pharma shares trade lower; Sun Pharma slumps nearly 6%

NEW DELHI: Most pharma shares were trading in the negative zone in Tuesday's session.

Shares of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (down 5.69 per cent), Cadila Healthcare (down 2.04 per cent), Cipla (down 1.37 per cent) and Aurobindo Pharma (down 0.98 per cent) were the top losers in the pharma pack.

Biocon (down 0.35 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (down 0.34 per cent) and Piramal Enterprises (down 0.06 per cent) too were trading in the red.

The Nifty Pharma index was trading 1.72 per cent down at 9023.05 on Tuesday.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 1.35 points at 10,627.25 while BSE Sensex was up 16.60 points at 35,370.68 around 11:10 am.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.
