Proud trophy hunter who shot giraffe said he was delicious
A trophy hunter who has proudly posed for photos with her giraffe kill admitted she even ate the mammal and said he was delicious.
Tess Thompson Talley, 38, said she is proud to hunt during a CBS interview on Friday, despite receiving death threats after posting images on social media with a black giraffe carcass in South Africa.
The broadcaster was given a tour around her Odessa, Texas, ranch during which she wore camouflage hunting gear as she was filmed tracking a wildebeest.
Defending her controversial passion, she showed off the goods she had made from the giraffes hide including decorative home pieces and a gun case.
She told CBS: This is a part of the black giraffe that I shot, something I could take around with me, and have on my hunts.
I also have decorative pillows made out of him, and everybody loves them.
When asked about the giraffe she had killed Talley, who works in a ball-bearing factory, laughed: He was delicious!
After the segment was broadcasted, Talley was grilled by a group of panellists in the studio but the hunter defended her kills as a form of conservation.
She said: We are preserving… we are managing herds, were managing numbers of wildlife.
Talley later insisted: I am proud to be a hunter, and Im proud to hunt, and I am proud of [killing] that giraffe.
Her appearance on the show comes almost one year after she posted the shocking images online, sparking global outrage with numerous celebrities condemning the kill.
Will and Grace actress Debra Messing called Talley at the time a disgusting, vile, amoral, heartless, selfish murderer.
Ricky Gervais tweeted: Whats 16 feet tall and has a c*** on the back of its neck?
The images were taken in 2017 but went viral in July last year.
