The GMB host attacked Sir Kier Starmer on Twitter this morning after he apparently declined an appearance on the show.

Morgan wrote: “Hi @[Kier Starmer] – sorry you didnt have the balls to come on GMB today because I gave [John McDonnell] a hard time about your partys deeply worrying & confused nuclear defence strategy.

“When you grow some, let me know. Piers”.

Shadow Chancellor McDonnell had a furious row with Morgan on Monday mornings show – challenging his interviewing technique.

John McDonnell to Piers Morgan

Morgan claimed that if Jeremy Corbyn would not be willing to use nuclear weapons, there is no point in the UK having them.

In a furious rant, McDonnell challenged Morgan over his interview technique.

He commented angrily: “I was smiling because your interviews are usually a monologue of yourself, and not actually allowing the interviewee to answer.”

While Morgan hit back, McDonnell continued to berate his history of interviews on the show.

He continued: “I wonder if we could do a word count against yours and how many you give the interviewee.

“What is funny is your interviewing style, you push your own views!”

Starmer is currently at the centre of an apparent schism within Labours top team – as party bosses have failed to clearly state their Brexit policy.

McDonnell claims any future referendum offered by Labour would rule out the option to Remain in the EU – a claim slapped down by Starmer late last night.

Pursued by a crew of reporters at the Labour party conference, Starmer said: "The meeting last night was very clear that the question of a public vote should be open.

“We weren't ruling out options and nobody was ruling out Remain.”

Daily Star Online approached Starmer for further comment.
