NEW DELHI: Over 20 stocks, including Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar, Gitanjali Gems, Lakshmi Vilas Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce and Punjab National Bank hit fresh 52-week lows on the NSE during Tuesday's trade.

Shares of Rohit Ferro-Tech, Sterling Biotech, Supreme Infrastructure India, Supreme Tex Mart, Uttam Galva Steels and Value Industries also touched their new 52-week lows on the NSE.

Equity benchmarks erased the gains of opening session due to selling in bank, pharma and financial stocks.

The NSE Nifty50 index was 24 points down at 10,559, while the BSE Sensex was 60 points down at 34,386 around 10:35 am (IST).

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 22 were trading in the green, while 28 were in the red.

IT, metal, FMCG and auto indices were marginally up, while all other sectoral indices were in the red on the NSE.

Nifty PSU Bank index was down over 2 per cent, followed by bank, financial and realty indices, all declining nearly 1 per cent.

GAIL, Tata Consultancy Services, Bharti Airtel, Hindustan Unilever and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation were among the top gainers on the NSE, while Ambuja Cements, State Bank of India, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Axis Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank were among the top losers.
