NEW DELHI: Auto stocks Amara Raja Batteries (up 4.13 per cen..

NEW DELHI: Auto stocks Amara Raja Batteries (up 4.13 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (up 2.43 per cent), Tata Motors (up 1.70 per cent) and Exide Industries (up 1.17 per cent) were gaining in Wednesday's trade, keeping the Nifty Auto index up.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.65 per cent up at 12,070 around 01:20 pm (IST).

Shares of Bharat Forge (up 0.95 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India (up 0.68 per cent), Bosch (up 0.64 per cent), Apollo Tyres (up 0.58 per cent), Ashok Leyland (up 0.55 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra (up 0.50 per cent) were also seen in the green.

However, shares of Eicher Motors (down 1.48 per cent), Motherson Sumi Systems (down 1.36 per cent), TVS Motor Company (down 0.52 per cent), Bajaj Auto (down 0.30 per cent) and MRF (down 0.17 per cent) were trading down in auto index around that time.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 19 points at 10,482, while the BSE Sensex was 82 points up at 33,919.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 28 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red.

In the Nifty 50 index, Hero MotoCorp, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation, Lupin, Hindalco Industries, Tata Motors and GAIL were among the top gainers.

However, Dr Reddy's Labs, Eicher Motors, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, Ambuja Cements, Tata Steel and Kotak Mahindra Bank were among the top losers.
