LONDON — Liam Fox has been sacked as international trade secretary as new Prime Minister Boris Johnson carried out a Cabinet cull.
Less than an hour after walking into 10 Downing Street, it emerged he had also dumped Penny Mordaunt and Greg Clark as secretaries of state for defense and business respectively.
Fox, a pro-Brexit figure who backed Tory leadership challenger Jeremy Hunt for the top job, urged colleagues on Monday to “unite behind our new Leader to carry out the instruction from the British people and deliver Brexit.”
