The investigation is being conducted under New York&#039;s Martin Act, which is designed to protect investors from fraud. <\/p>\n<p>MoviePass has been changing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnet.com\/news\/moviepass-is-confusing-loyal-and-lapsed-customers-with-new-plan\/\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">its subscription plans<\/a> \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnet.com\/news\/moviepass-just-limited-unlimited-movie-watching-in-a-huge-way\/\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">limiting the number of movies customers can watch<\/a> and briefly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnet.com\/news\/moviepass-is-limiting-new-movies-raises-price-to-save-itself\/\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">raising prices<\/a> \u2014 as its parent company battles huge losses. Helios and Matheson <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/Archives\/edgar\/data\/1040792\/000121390018011086\/f10q0618_heliosandmatheson.htm\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">lost more than $100 million<\/a> in the quarter ended June 30.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, Helios and Matheson said it&#039;s &quot;fully cooperating&quot;
