The ex-UKIP leader revealed he was weighing up his options for the next mayoral election in May 2020. <\/p>\n

Speaking to the Financial Times, he said the vote would give him a chance to \u201cmake arguments\u201d on a high-profile platform. <\/p>\n

He said: \u201cI have been encouraged to [stand] by a group of people, but that doesnt mean Im going to\u2026I havent said no to it, Im thinking about it.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Tory party are very actively aware that if I did stand, they would probably come third, and they are afraid of that.\u201d <\/p>\n

Mr Khan was elected to the position two years ago and remains the frontrunner for the next election \u2013 despite spiralling crime rates. <\/p>\n

Mr Farage, a long-time ally of Donald Trump, has previously criticised the London mayor for his hostility to the US President. <\/p>\n

As of Thursday morning, a campaign to raise money for a giant balloon of Mr Khan has claimed to have raised \u00a358,000<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 29ft blimp is in response to a balloon of Mr Trump wearing a nappy which was flown over London during the US president's visit last month.<\/p>\n

Khan is shown wearing a yellow bikini \u2014 a reference to the row over the mayor's banning of an advert featuring a bikini-clad woman with the slogan "Are you beach body ready?"<\/p>\n

Organiser Yanny Gruere, 28, said he wants to draw attention to the rising crime rates in the capital since Khan became mayor in 2016.<\/p>\n
