U.S. President Donald Trump said the EUs offer to scrap tariffs on cars is \u201cnot good enough\u201d because European consumers \u201chabits are to buy their cars, not to buy our cars.\u201d<\/p>\n

In an interview<\/a> with Bloomberg published Friday, Trump also said the EU \u201cis almost as bad as China, just smaller.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Thursday, EU trade chief Cecilia Malmstr\u00f6m told European Parliaments trade committee that Brussels is willing to scrap tariffs on all industrial products<\/a>, including cars, in its trade talks with the United States.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are willing to bring down even our car tariffs down to zero \u2026 if the U.S. does the same,\u201d she said, adding that \u201cit would be good for us economically, and for them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump also took aim at the World Trade Organization, telling Bloomberg<\/a>: \u201cIf they dont shape up, I would withdraw from the WTO,\u201d adding that the agreement establishing the body is \u201cthe single worst trade deal ever made.\u201d<\/p>\n

The U.S. president said his country has \u201crarely won a lawsuit\u201d in the WTO, \u201cexcept for last year.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cIn the last year, were starting to win a lot. You know why? Because they know if we dont, Im out of there.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Bloomberg, of the 54 cases brought by the U.S. over the life of the WTO, Washington won at least one finding in its favor in 49 of them, and of the 80 cases brought against the U.S., a WTO panel ruled against it in at least one aspect in 69 cases.<\/p>\n
