{"id":89500,"date":"2018-08-27T11:39:28","date_gmt":"2018-08-27T11:39:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bnreport.com\/dominic-raab-no-freedom-of-movement-in-brexit-deal-2\/"},"modified":"2018-08-27T11:39:28","modified_gmt":"2018-08-27T11:39:28","slug":"dominic-raab-no-freedom-of-movement-in-brexit-deal-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bnreport.com\/en\/dominic-raab-no-freedom-of-movement-in-brexit-deal-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Dominic Raab: No freedom of movement in Brexit deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The U.K.s Brexit Secretary Dominic Raab said the United Kingdom will hold its line that freedom of movement for EU citizens \u201cwill have to end\u201d after Britains departure from the bloc.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI dont think [the freedom of movement] is tenable and, more importantly, the prime minister has made it clear that freedom of movement will have to end,\u201d Raab said in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.co.uk\/article\/dominic-raab-i-saw-offbully-slobodan-milosevic-michel-barnier-needs-a-softer-touch-jrrmc3t98\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">interview<\/a> with the Sunday Times newspaper.<\/p>\n<p>Raab said a deal with the EU on access rights for people was tied to a trade deal, which would include a \u201csensible discussion about the visas needed to facilitate the trade.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Asked about a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/chancellor-letter-to-chair-of-treasury-committee-on-no-deal-brexit-economic-analysis\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">letter<\/a> published last week by Philip Hammond, chancellor of the exchequer, claiming a no-deal Brexit could lower Britains GDP by as much as 10 percent, Raab said he was \u201calways chary of any forecast because most of them have been proved to be wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Raab has negotiated Brexit with EU counterpart Michel Barnier since being appointed secretary of state in a government reshuffle in July.
