<\/p>\nIn an exclusive interview with current party leader Gerard Batten, he told us the party would also turn the BBC into a subscription-only broadcaster.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cOur policy will be to abolish the BBC and make it a subscription-fee service.<\/p>\n
\u201cChannel 4 is actually owned\u2026by the government. Though it isnt given any money, the taxpayer is liable if it runs into financial difficulty.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe would get rid of the BBC licence fee and sell off Channel 4.\u201d<\/p>\n

Channel 4 is funded predominantly by advertising and sponsorship, but unlike other broadcasters such as ITV, Channel 4 is not shareholder owned.<\/p>\n
Instead it is governed by a board made up of directors, who are responsible for ensuring it fulfils its public service remit.<\/p>\n
Mr Batten also sank Nigel Farages triumphant comeback at the weekend, telling us the former leader only says things \u201cto keep his viewing figures up on LBC\u201d.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cWith all due respect to Nigel, a lot of what he says is to do with keeping his viewing figures up on LBC. <\/p>\n

\u201cBecause if he didnt say something interesting, well\u2026I understand why hes doing that.\u201d <\/p>\n
Batten went on to reveal Farage could be in for a fight over the top job in the spring. <\/p>\n
He said: \u201cI said I would do this job for a one-year term unopposed. That way I could sort the mess out in the party. So I will be standing down in April\u2026 <\/p>\n
\u201cWhat I will do then \u2013 I will make a decision about whether Im gonna run for a four-year term or not.<\/p>\n

Farage has teased a return to the UKIP leadership, saying he would put his name forward for the job if Brexit is not put \u201cback on track\u201d by Prime Minister Theresa May. <\/p>\n
On Saturday, Farage revealed he would be going "on the road" with Brexit campaign "Leave Means Leave". <\/p>\n
In a column for the Telegrah, the UKIP MEP blasted Theresa May's Chequers plan as a "sell-out" as it included regulatory alignment with the EU. <\/p>\n

Mr Farage said "scores of people" had stopped him in the street to ask when he was "coming back".<\/p>\n
He added: "Well now you have your answer: I'm back."<\/p>\n
