NEW DELHI: The counter of HDFC Bank (Rs 231.63 crore) was buzzing as the most active stock in terms of value on NSE in morning trade on Thursday. <\/p>\n

It was followed by Tata Steel<\/a> (Rs 171.78 crore), PC Jeweller (Rs 132.43 crore) and Dr. Reddy's Labs (Rs 120.27 crore). <\/p>\n

Lupin (Rs 117.99 crore), Tata Consultancy Services<\/a> (Rs 117.70 crore), Sun Pharma (Rs 116.14 crore), Dish TV India (Rs 114.64 crore), State Bank of India (Rs 106.70 crore) and Infosys (Rs 104.18 crore) were also among the most active stock in terms of value. <\/p>\n

Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty on Thursday opened on a poor note after the US Federal Reserve hiked interest rates for the second time this year and hinted at two more such hikes in the remainder of 2018. <\/p>\n

Concerns over widening current account deficit (CAD) at home and data showing lower-than-expected Chinese factory output growth too weighed on the sentiment. Besides, all eyes were on US President Donald Trump's meet with his top trade advisers later in the day to decide on tariff on Chinese goods. <\/p>\n

The NSE Nifty index was trading 42 points down at 10,814, while the BSE Sensex was down 127 points at 35,612 around 09:55 am. <\/p>\n

In the Nifty index, 12 stocks were in the green, while 38 were in the red. <\/p>\n

Bharti Airtel, Hindalco Industries, HCL Technologies, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories and Tata Steel were among the top gainers in the Nifty index. <\/p>\n

On the other hand, Infosys, State Bank of India, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finance and Wipro were among the top losers in the Nifty pack of stocks. <\/p>\n
