NEW DELHI: Most bank stocks finished Monday's session with losses, keeping the sectoral index in the red. <\/p>\n

The BSE Bankex settled 1.42 per cent down at 29,358 on Monday, with 8 stocks in the red and only 2 in the green. <\/p>\n

Bank of Baroda<\/a> (down 4 per cent) emerged as the top loser in the index. <\/p>\n

It was followed by HDFC Bank<\/a> (down 2.99 per cent), Federal Bank (down 1.93 per cent), State Bank of India<\/a> (down 1.37 per cent) and ICICI Bank (down 1.14 per cent). <\/p>\n

Shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 1.13 per cent), IndusInd Bank<\/a> (down 0.93 per cent) and Axis Bank (down 0.20 per cent) also remained under pressure. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Punjab National Bank<\/a> (up 0.36 per cent) and YES Bank<\/a> (up 0.22 per cent) were the two stocks that remained up. <\/p>\n

The BSE Sensex took a downward plunge of 215 points, or 0.61 per cent, to settle at 35,012, while the Nifty index tanked 68 points, or 0.63 per cent, to finish Monday's session at 10,629. <\/p>\n

In the Nifty index, 15 stocks managed to close the day with gains, while 35 remained in the negative zone. <\/p>\n

The Sensex saw 7 stocks advancing, while 24 declining at the end of Monday's trade. <\/p>\n

HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel and Adani Ports remained the top losers in the Sensex index. <\/p>\n
