The Nifty50 index was 0.28 per cent up at 10,645 around the same time. <\/p>\n<p>Shankara Building Products (down 18.77 per cent) was the top loser in the smallcap index.  <\/p>\n<p>It was followed by <a href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/atlanta-ltd\/stocks\/companyid-15487.cms\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Atlanta<\/a> (down 15.74 per cent) that hit lower circuit limit on Thursday after Price Waterhouse (PW), a network firm of PwC India quit as auditor to the construction and infrastructure company. <\/p>\n<p>Leel Electricals (down 14.81 per cent), <a href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/fineotex-chemical-ltd\/stocks\/companyid-33348.cms\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Fineotex Chemical<\/a> (down 10.60 per cent), Arrow Greentech (down 9.99 per cent), Manpasand Beverages (down 9.99 per cent) and <a href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/Dilip-Buildcon\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Dilip Buildcon<\/a> (down 9.78 per cent) were the other significant losers in the index. <\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, <a href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/punj-lloyd-ltd\/stocks\/companyid-18609.cms\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Punj Lloyd<\/a> (up 17.34 per cent) emerged as the top gainer in the smallcap index. <\/p>\n<p>The infrastructure firm on Wednesday reported a standalone profit of Rs 944 crore for the quarter ended March 2018. <\/p>\n<p>The company had posted a loss of Rs 181.58 crore for the same period last year.  <\/p>\n<p>WPIL (up 14.55 per cent), BGR Energy Systems (up 14.16 per cent), Orient Cement (up 13.05 per cent) and <a href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/munjal-showa-ltd\/stocks\/companyid-13385.cms\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Munjal Showa<\/a> (up 9.99 per cent) also featured among top gainers. <\/p>\n<p>Equity benchmarks pared gains owing to losses in heavyweights such as ICICI Bank, Tata Consultancy Services, State Bank of India and <a href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/sun-pharmaceutical-industries-ltd\/stocks\/companyid-9134.cms\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Sun Pharma<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blockads.fivefilters.org\/\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><\/a><\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/blockads.fivefilters.org\/acceptable.html\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/markets\/stocks\/news\/stock-market-update-smallcaps-trail-sensex-shankara-building-products-top-loser\/articleshow\/64395907.cms\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Original Article<\/a><\/p>\n<p>[contf]<br \/>\n[contfnew]<br \/>\n        <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/img.etimg.com\/photo\/60278104.cms\"\/><\/p>\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">ET Markets<\/a><\/h5>\n<p>[contfnewc]<br \/>\n[contfnewc]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NEW DELHI: The BSE Smallcap index was trailing benchmark Sen..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":80397,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[202],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-80396","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-finance"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.5 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Stock market update: Smallcaps trail Sensex;
