Power producer<\/a> NTPC on Monday posted 40.69 per cent year-on-year (YoY) rise in net profit at Rs 2,925.59 crore for the quarter ended March 31, against Rs 2,079.40 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. ET Now pod had predicted a profit of Rs 2,510 crore in the year ago period. <\/p>\n

Revenue of the company increased 13.14 per cent YoY to Rs 23,100.26 crore during the quarter under review. The figure stood at Rs 20416.67 crore in the same period last year. <\/p>\n

Cheering the quarterly results, shares of the company rallied as much as 2.72 per cent to Rs 169.60 against its previous close of Rs 165.10. <\/p>\n

During the quarter, the company has paid an interim dividend<\/a> of Rs 2.73 per equity share for the year 2017-18. The board of directors of the company has recommended final dividend of Rs 2.39 per equity share. The total dividend (including interim dividend) for the financial year 2017-18 is Rs 5.12 per equity share. <\/p>\n
