{"id":76817,"date":"2018-05-08T11:17:12","date_gmt":"2018-05-08T11:17:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bnreport.com\/rosenblatt-amasses-7m-litigation-war-chest-following-todays-london-float\/"},"modified":"2018-05-08T11:17:12","modified_gmt":"2018-05-08T11:17:12","slug":"rosenblatt-amasses-7m-litigation-war-chest-following-todays-london-float","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bnreport.com\/en\/rosenblatt-amasses-7m-litigation-war-chest-following-todays-london-float\/","title":{"rendered":"Rosenblatt amasses \u00a37m litigation war chest following todays London float"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cityam.com\/assets\/uploads\/main-image\/full_width_article_body_image\/inside-the-london-stock-exchange-72622829-5af15aabdfa7e.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>City law firm Rosenblatt has raised a war chest of \u00a35-7m to pursue litigation cases in todays flotation on the London stock exchange, the largest ever by a UK law firm.<\/p>\n<p>The firm, which was admitted to trading this morning, said that \u00a35-7m of the \u00a331.8m raised would be put towards funding litigation cases and used as working capital.<\/p>\n<p>Rosenblatt has previously worked with external litigation funders such as Doorway Capital, which typically provide funds to firms in exchange for a share of any settlement received.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read more<\/strong>: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cityam.com\/283088\/exclusive-rosenblatt-appoints-advisers-looks-become-fourth\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Exclusive: City law firm Rosenblatt appoints advisers as it looks to float<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The firm said it will also allocate \u00a35-7m for acquisitions of complementary businesses and investment in IT and artificial intelligence systems.<\/p>\n<p>The majority of the money raised will go towards the acquisition of the firm with \u00a318m going towards the repayment of loans owed by the sellers and around \u00a32m towards the repayment of tax liabilities.<\/p>\n<p>The float marks a windfall for senior partner Ian Rosenblatt who prior to admission owned 59 per cent of the business and now owns 21 per cent of the firm.<\/p>\n<p>Milton Asset Management, Fidelity Investments, Blackrock and Canaccord Genuity Group have acquired 15.8 per cent, 6.6 per cent and 3.6 per cent of the law firm&#039;s shares.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read more<\/strong>: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cityam.com\/282344\/number-listed-law-firms-double-over-next-12-months\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Will the number of listed law firms double over the next 12 months?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Chief executive Nicola Foulston said: \u201cOur admission to AIM will provide us with a significant opportunity to create a profitable and growing business to capitalise on the changes seen in the legal marketplace in the UK in recent years driven by regulatory reform and new technology.
