NEW DELHI: The Nifty Private Bank index was trading 0.32 per cent up at 14,672 around 02:15 pm (IST) on gains in shares of Axis Bank<\/a> (up 2.16 per cent) and ICICI Bank<\/a> (up 2.09 per cent). <\/p>\n

RBL Bank (up 1.28 per cent), South Indian Bank (up 0.77 per cent) and HDFC Bank<\/a> (up 0.13 per cent) were also in the green in the index around that time. <\/p>\n

However, IDFC Bank (down 1.78 per cent), Federal Bank<\/a> (down 1.67 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank<\/a> (down 1.65 per cent) and IndusInd Bank<\/a> (down 0.42 per cent) were down around the same time. <\/p>\n

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 16 points at 10,702, while the BSE Sensex was up 7 points at 35,183. <\/p>\n

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red. <\/p>\n

Bharti Infratel (up 3.44 per cent), Hindalco Industries (up 2.39 per cent), ICICI Bank (up 2.20 per cent), Axis Bank (up 2.15 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 1.85 per cent) were among the top gainers in the Nifty index. <\/p>\n

On the contrary, HCL Technologies<\/a> (down 6.88 per cent), UPL (down 3.17 per cent), Tech Mahindra (down 1.59 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 1.56 per cent) and Larsen & Toubro (down 1.50 per cent) were among the top losers in the index. <\/p>\n
