{"id":71862,"date":"2018-04-11T23:41:35","date_gmt":"2018-04-11T23:41:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bnreport.com\/fifth-of-adults-tempted-to-invest-in-cryptocurrencies-for-first-time\/"},"modified":"2018-04-11T23:41:35","modified_gmt":"2018-04-11T23:41:35","slug":"fifth-of-adults-tempted-to-invest-in-cryptocurrencies-for-first-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bnreport.com\/en\/fifth-of-adults-tempted-to-invest-in-cryptocurrencies-for-first-time\/","title":{"rendered":"Fifth of adults tempted to invest in cryptocurrencies for first time"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cityam.com\/assets\/uploads\/main-image\/full_width_article_body_image\/bitcoin-continues-to-see-unprecedented-growth-887657568-5ace27eed78c5.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>One in five people in the UK who don&#039;t own any cryptocurrencies would consider venturing into the market and buying within three years, according to research out today. <\/p>\n<p>Communications company Citigate Dewe Rogerson carried out the research, asking 1,000 adults in the UK their feelings on whether they&#039;d consider buying cryptocurrencies for the first time.<\/p>\n<p>Of the people who didn&#039;t want to invest in cryptocurrencies, more than two-thirds (67 per cent) said it was because they were too volatile. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Read more<\/strong>: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cityam.com\/283629\/fca-publish-its-cryptocurrency-review-later-year\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">The FCA will publish its cryptocurrency review later this year<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Around 61 per cent opted against it as they didn&#039;t have enough knowledge about them, and 43 per cent argued that there was still not enough regulation of the market. <\/p>\n<p>Citigate also carried out separate research with 30 finance professionals on their views on cryptocurrencies.  <\/p>\n<p>Almost three-quarters (73 per cent) reckoned that between now and 2020, more regulation for cryptocurrencies would be brought in. <\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, one in three believed that cryptocurrencies will never stabilise, while almost one in five (19 per cent) thought this would happen in the next three years.  <\/p>\n<p>Phil Anderson, executive director at Citigate Dewe Rogerson said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Our research shows that many investors are tempted to dip their toe into the crypto-currency marketplace, but there are a number of obstacles preventing them from doing this.<\/p>\n<p>However, many of the obstacles to crypto-currency investment will be addressed in the coming months and years. Assuming valuations continue to rise, many more investors will be attracted to this market. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The volatile nature of cryptocurrencies has made many commentators question whether the trend is a bubble <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cityam.com\/283505\/cryptocurrencies-rise-decentralised-money\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">about to burst.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Financial regulator the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) announced earlier this month that it would be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cityam.com\/283629\/fca-publish-its-cryptocurrency-review-later-year\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">publishing a review into cryptocurrencies later in 2018.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blockads.fivefilters.org\/\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><\/a><\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/blockads.fivefilters.org\/acceptable.html\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One in five people in the UK who don&#039;t own any cryptocu..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":71863,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[202],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-71862","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-finance"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.9 -
