{"id":71776,"date":"2018-04-11T15:41:00","date_gmt":"2018-04-11T15:41:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bnreport.com\/russias-rouble-is-falling-further-as-moodys-and-two-directors-ditch-rusal-2\/"},"modified":"2018-04-11T15:41:00","modified_gmt":"2018-04-11T15:41:00","slug":"russias-rouble-is-falling-further-as-moodys-and-two-directors-ditch-rusal-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bnreport.com\/en\/russias-rouble-is-falling-further-as-moodys-and-two-directors-ditch-rusal-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Russia&#8217;s rouble is falling further as Moody&#8217;s and two directors ditch Rusal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cityam.com\/assets\/uploads\/main-image\/full_width_article_body_image\/russia-forex-ruble-459291374-5acdc1abb0c37.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The Russian rouble fell for a third day this morning as aluminium giant Rusal revealed two more directors had left its board.<\/p>\n<p>After <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cityam.com\/283754\/double-t-rouble-russian-currency-hammered-markets-reel\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">dropping around eight per cent since the start of the week<\/a>, the rouble shed another 1.77 per cent this morning.<\/p>\n<p>It came as Rusal, a Russian aluminium producer controlled by Oleg Daripaska, an oligarch who has been targeted in recent US sanctions, said two more non-executive directors will depart after <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cityam.com\/283672\/glencore-boss-ivan-glasenberg-resigns-rusals-board-amid\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Ivan Glasenberg, the chief executive of Glencore, stepped down yesterday<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In a filing to the Hong Kong stock exchange today, Rusal said Maksim Goldman and Daniel Lesin Wolfe had resigned due to the inclusion of Rusal on the US sanctions list.<\/p>\n<p>Ratings agency Moody&#039;s also said it will withdraw its rating of Rusal today, citing &quot;its own business reasons&quot;.<\/p>\n<p>In a separate filing, Rusal said it was evaluating the effect of the London Metal Exchange&#039;s (LME) decision to suspend deliveries from any of Rusal&#039;s company&#039;s brands to LME-approved warehouses, effective from 17 April.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Shareholders and potential investors are advised to exercise extreme caution when dealing in the securities of the company,&quot; it said.<\/p>\n<p>Shares in the firm were down another 2.38 per cent today after tumbling nearly 60 per cent over the previous two days.<\/p>\n<p>Former UK energy minister Lord Barker reportedly plans to continue as the chairman of London-listed En+, which is also controlled by Deripaska.
