NEW DELHI: Gains in shares of Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) (up 2.34 per cent) and Indraprastha Gas<\/a> (IGL) (up 1.43 per cent) were keeping the sectoral index in the green during Thursday's trade. <\/p>\n

The BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 0.24 per cent up at 15,543 around 11 am (IST). <\/p>\n

Shares of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation<\/a> (up 0.38 per cent) and Castrol India<\/a> (up 0.07 per cent) were also slightly up. <\/p>\n

However, shares of Petronet LNG<\/a> (down 1.24 per cent), Oil India (down 0.94 per cent), GAIL<\/a> (India) (down 0.61 per cent), Reliance Industries<\/a> (down 0.12 per cent), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation<\/a> (down 0.11 per cent) and Indian Oil Corporation<\/a> (down 0.03 per cent) were in the red in the index around that time. <\/p>\n

Equity benchmarks were down, tracking global cues. Investors were cautious after the fiscal deficit data reached at 113.7 per cent of the full year's target. <\/p>\n

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was 4 points down at 10,489, while the BSE Sensex was 41 points down at 34,143. <\/p>\n

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 27 were trading in the green, while 23 were in the red. <\/p>\n
