NEW DELHI: Most of the auto stocks, including Motherson Sumi Systems<\/a> (up 1.17 per cent), MRF (up 0.91 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra (up 0.67 per cent) and Exide Industries<\/a> (up 0.53 per cent) were trading up in afternoon trade on Thursday. <\/p>\n

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.17 per cent up at 11,926 around 02:05 pm (IST). <\/p>\n

Shares of Bharat Forge<\/a> (up 0.37 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India<\/a> (up 0.28 per cent), Apollo Tyres<\/a> (up 0.26 per cent), Eicher Motors<\/a> (up 0.16 per cent), Tata Motors (up 0.15 per cent) and Bosch (up 0.06 per cent) were also at the gainers' end in the auto index. <\/p>\n

However, Hero MotoCorp (down 1 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (down 0.25 per cent), Bajaj Auto (down 0.15 per cent), Ashok Leyland (down 0.08 per cent) and TVS Motor Company (down 0.03 per cent) were experiencing selling pressure around that time. <\/p>\n

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was 27 points up at 10,518, while the BSE Sensex<\/a> was 71 points up at 33,983. <\/p>\n

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red. One stock was appearing unchanged. <\/p>\n

In the Nifty 50 index, Hindalco Industries<\/a>, UPL, Vedanta, Hindustan Unilever, Lupin and Tata Steel were among the top gainers. <\/p>\n

On the other hand, Axis Bank, State Bank of India, Hero MotoCorp, Bharat Petroleum Corporation, Indian Oil Corporation and Wipro were among the top losers. <\/p>\n
