The executive chairman of the board of directors at Alphabet<\/a>, Google<\/a>'s parent company, will step down next month, the company said.<\/p>\n

Eric Schmidt will stay with the company as a technical adviser to the board.<\/p>\n

In a tweet, Schmidt said: "After ten years as CEO and seven as executive chairman, I can\u2019t wait to dive into the latest in science, technology, and philanthropy. I look forward to working with Larry and Sergey on our future here at Alphabet."<\/p>\n
