Despite not being legal tender \u2013 it can&#039;t be used to pay for traditional goods and services \u2013 the value of bitcoin has rocketed this year.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/business-42150512\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">What is Bitcoin?<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It has been exploited by criminals to launder money.
