She also claimed that Amazon had steadily advanced toward monopolistic status.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Since her appointment, the prospect of this lawsuit has been widely anticipated and a critical test for Khan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The concentrated power of a small number of tech giants has led certain US lawmakers to call for measures to bolster competition in online search, e-commerce, and social media.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">However, the FTC, under Khan\u2019s leadership, has faced setbacks in its confrontations with big companies.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Pressure Following Amazon Lawsuit<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In February, it failed in its bid to halt Meta\u2019s acquisition of VR company Within.
