Cairo, (Business News Report)||<\/strong> The UAE, Egypt, and Jordan announced the start of cooperation in enhancing food security and finding joint projects in this aspect.<\/p>\n

The countries agreed to cooperate in the cultivation of wheat, barley and corn to achieve food security for the three countries.<\/p>\n

The agreement coincides with growing fears of the repercussions of the Russian-Ukrainian war on global grain supply chains.<\/p>\n

The Jordanian Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Yousef Al-Shamali, said that food security projects “represent part of the projects that the three countries are working on immediately.”<\/p>\n

He added, “There is consensus among the three countries for the cultivation of a number of urgent agricultural crops, which are wheat, barley and corn.”<\/p>\n

Al-Shamali added that the cultivation of the three crops is part of the joint projects in Jordan and Egypt, and that there will be Emirati investment in this regard.<\/p>\n

He continued, “There is another important project in an integrative process… It is represented in importing ammonia from Egypt and gas from the UAE to produce fertilizers from the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company<\/a>, which will be sold to these countries, and the surplus will be sold to other countries.”<\/p>\n

Last Sunday, the three countries launched the “Integrative Industrial Partnership for Sustainable Economic Development” to strengthen partnership in the fields of advanced technology, agriculture and resource employment.<\/p>\n

The new industrial partnership will also focus on the sectors of agriculture and advanced technology, the recruitment of resources and capabilities, and the strengthening of international and regional partnerships.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the three countries will work, through the $10 billion that the UAE will pump into the two countries, to develop world-class competitive industries, achieve secure and flexible supply chains, sustainable growth, and enhance the integration of value chains and trade among them.<\/p>\n

Jordanian economists stressed that the industrial partnership between the three countries, the UAE, Jordan and Egypt, is a step in the right direction towards sustainability in several sectors.<\/p>\n

In their speech, they stressed that this partnership is the gateway to forming important alliances that serve the peoples of countries and form a wall that protects them from any economic chaos in the world, especially with regard to food security.<\/p>\n

Last Sunday, the agreement to announce the launch of the Integrated Industrial Partnership Initiative for sustainable economic development was signed, in the presence of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs in the UAE, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, and Jordanian Prime Minister Bishr Al-Khasawneh.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
