{"id":222691,"date":"2022-04-03T14:43:40","date_gmt":"2022-04-03T14:43:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bnreport.com\/?p=222691"},"modified":"2022-04-03T14:44:03","modified_gmt":"2022-04-03T14:44:03","slug":"bahrains-economy-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bnreport.com\/en\/bahrains-economy-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Positive indicators on Bahrain&#8217;s economy in last quarter of last year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Manamah, (Business News Report)||<\/strong> Bahrain&#8217;s economy have achieved positive indicators during the fourth quarter of last year, supported by the oil and non-oil sectors.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Data from the Information and e-Government Authority stated that the gross domestic product of the Kingdom of Bahrain grew in the fourth quarter of last year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The continued recovery of the tourism sector in the Kingdom also supported the growth of Bahrain&#8217;s economy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The data showed that Bahrain&#8217;s GDP grew by 4.29% in the fourth quarter of 2021 on an annual basis, while the growth rate was 1.49% on a quarterly basis.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Regarding the performance of the sectors on an annual basis, the oil sector achieved a growth of 4.67% as a result of the increase in oil prices, and the non-oil sector recorded a growth of 4.21%.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The activity of hotels and restaurants increased by 31.66%, and agricultural and fishing activity grew by 10.24%.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">As for the performance of economic activities on a quarterly basis, the oil sector declined by 4.49%, and the non-oil sector achieved an increase of 2.86%.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Meanwhile, the hotel and restaurant sector rose 20.58%, with the tourism sector continuing to recover.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The Bahraini Ministry of Finance said in a statement last Thursday that Bahrain&#8217;s real GDP growth in 2021 is estimated at 2.2%.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">While the Ministry of Finance expected that the real GDP would be at 4.1% in 2022, adding that inflation according to the consumer price index for the year 2021 was initially 1.0%.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In a related context, the profits of companies listed on the Bahrain Stock Exchange jumped by 138% in 2021, compared to their profits in the previous year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">For the first time in the history of the Bahrain Stock Exchange, listed companies achieved profits of 1.1 billion dinars ($2.9 billion) in 2021.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Meanwhile, the profits of the listed companies in the year 2020 amounted to 455 million dinars ($1.2 billion).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Aluminium Bahrain\u00a0B.S.C. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=&amp;cad=rja&amp;uact=8&amp;ved=2ahUKEwiXoJXaj_j2AhUogf0HHbrtD-cQFnoECAsQAQ&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.albasmelter.com%2Fen%2F&amp;usg=AOvVaw3Fgfa2aei0imKAJskPz7AP\">Alba<\/a>) company came in the first place in terms of achieving profits, as its profits amounted to about 451 million dinars ($1.196 billion), equivalent to about 41.34% of the total profits of the companies listed on the stock exchange.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Ahli United Bank came in second place, as its profits jumped to 228 million dinars ($604 million), equivalent to about 20.95% of the total corporate profits, according to the local newspaper, Al-Watan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Manamah, (Business News Report)|| Bahrain&#8217;s economy have achieved positive indicators during the fourth quarter of last year, supported by the oil and non-oil sectors.
