{"id":221310,"date":"2022-03-14T21:00:05","date_gmt":"2022-03-14T21:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bnreport.com\/?p=221310"},"modified":"2022-03-14T18:25:43","modified_gmt":"2022-03-14T18:25:43","slug":"qatars-inflation-rate-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bnreport.com\/en\/qatars-inflation-rate-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Qatar&#8217;s inflation rate rises due to rise in nine groups"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Ankara, (Business News Report)||\u00a0<\/strong>Qatar&#8217;s inflation rate rose last February by 3.99% compared to the same month last year, with the effect of the rise in nine groups.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=&amp;cad=rja&amp;uact=8&amp;ved=2ahUKEwjLgMrNm8b2AhVZ_7sIHYRoDAsQFnoECAsQAQ&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.psa.gov.qa%2Fen%2FPages%2Fdefault.aspx&amp;usg=AOvVaw1L3dyiuUE8NfJXIS51IvVN\">Qatar Planning and Statistics Authority<\/a> said that the rise in Qatar&#8217;s inflation rate in last month on an annual basis supported the rise in the prices of nine groups, foremost of which are entertainment, culture, food, beverages and transportation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The housing, electricity, water and some fuels group switched to the positive range for the first time in about 40 months.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">On the other hand, the prices of the health, restaurants and hotels groups decreased by 3.09% and 2.45%, respectively, while there was no change in the tobacco group.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In a related context, the exports of the private sector in Qatar reached a record level during the past year 2021, rising by 77%.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The value of private sector exports reached 26.4 billion riyals ($7,250 billion), compared to 15 billion riyals ($4.119 billion) in 2020.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In its annual report, the Qatar Chamber of Commerce said that the private sector&#8217;s exports increased by 21.7% compared to 2019 before the emergence of the Coronavirus pandemic, reaching about 21.7 billion riyals ($5,767 billion).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Meanwhile, the International Monetary Fund announced optimistic expectations for the growth of the Qatari economy, in light of the increase in domestic demand and the receding of the Coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The IMF expected that the Qatari economy to grow by 3.2% this year, up from 1.9% in 2021.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The fund indicated that its expectations were also based on the rise in the prices of crude oil and natural gas, and the Gulf state&#8217;s hosting of the World Cup soccer finals, late this year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The banking sector in Qatar still enjoys a good level of capitalization and liquidity, according to a recent report by the IMF, while non-performing loans are still at relatively low levels.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Last January, the Qatar Planning and Statistics Authority expected the national economy to grow at rates ranging between 1.6% and 2.9% in 2022.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The agency stated that preliminary expectations indicate the possibility of non-oil activities growing at rates ranging between 3% and 3.9% during the past year, and between 2.8 and 4.7% during the current year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ankara, (Business News Report)||\u00a0Qatar&#8217;s inflation rate rose last February by 3.99% compared to the same month last year, with the effect of the rise in nine groups.
