Amman, (Business News Report)|| <\/strong>Jordan’s trade balance deficit with the European Union increased by 12.9% during the past year 2021, to reach 2.671 billion dinars.<\/p>\n

Jordan’s trade balance deficit in 2020, amounted to 2.364 billion dinars.<\/p>\n

Foreign trade data issued by the Jordanian Department of Statistics<\/a> indicated that the value of national exports to the European Union increased by 29.9% during the past year, to reach about 199 million dinars, compared to the year 2020, which amounted to about 153 million dinars.<\/p>\n

The value of imports from the European Union increased last year, by 14%, to about 2.870 billion dinars, compared to the year 2020, which amounted to 2.517 billion dinars.<\/p>\n

According to the department’s data, the Netherlands topped the list of Jordanian exports to the European Union last year, reaching about 39 million dinars.<\/p>\n

Germany topped the list of countries from which Jordan imports, as the Kingdom’s imports from Germany amounted to approximately 544 million dinars.<\/p>\n

In a related context, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Nasser Al-Shraideh said that the US administration and Congress have approved a new aid package for Jordan for the current year estimated at about $1.650 billion.<\/p>\n

Al-Shraideh added: “The aid comes within the framework of supporting the Kingdom’s development and reform programs during 2022, in light of the challenges that cast a shadow on the Jordanian economy, including those imposed by the pandemic crisis and the Syrian refugee crisis.”<\/p>\n

The Minister considered in a statement that the approval of this aid is a result of the efforts made with the US administration and Congress during the last period in the context of securing and approving the aid package for the Kingdom.<\/p>\n

According to the budget items, which were approved on Thursday, no less than $845.1 million will be allocated to support the Jordanian government’s budget, in addition to $425 million in military aid.<\/p>\n

Also, $475 million will be allocated as a direct cash transfer to the budget, $147 million to the water sector, about $91.457 million for economic development and the energy sector, $77 million to support the democracy and good governance sector, $80 million to the education sector, and about $40.343 million to the health sector. information Office.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
