Abu Dhabi Ports<\/h2>\n
Abu Dhabi Ports Group is about to complete a comprehensive expansion project aimed at improving the infrastructure and service capabilities of Mugharraq Port, ensuring that the port supports the needs of the offshore oil and gas fields sector and mega projects in the region.<\/p>\n
These improvements also included the expansion of the quay wall to reach 480 metres, equipping it with additional berths, increasing the water depth in the port to eight metres, constructing new runways for rolled goods to bring the total number to six, and preparing a number of berths designated to support heavy lifting operations.<\/p>\n
In addition, the port’s load-carrying factor has increased to 15 tons per square meter, which supports heavy lifting activities and contributes to accelerating the movement of cargo destined for oil and gas facilities.<\/p>\n
Improvements and upgrades<\/h2>\n
As for improvements in onshore operations, the works included developing lines for transporting liquid and dry bulk cargo, which will bring tangible benefits to the oil and gas sector’s customers in a flooded port.<\/p>\n
The port\u2019s improvements, in addition to its strategic location near major oil and gas production projects in Ruwais, Al Hail, Ghosha and others, contribute to strengthening its position as a facility compliant with the standards of the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code, and able to meet the growing needs of international operations.<\/p>\n
