Apple<\/a>\u2018s next Mac computer could be controlled with hand gestures.<\/p>\n

The tech firm has been granted a patent<\/a> originally filed back in August 2016 describing a \u2018non-tactile three dimensional user interface\u2019 which will allow customers to control their device without touching the screen.<\/p>\n

Part of the patent reads: \u2018Gestures described herein include focus gestures and unlock gestures. A focus gesture enables the user to engage (i.e., take control of) an inactive non-tactile 3D user interface.<\/p>\n

\u2018An unlock gesture enables the user to engage a locked non-tactile 3D user interface, as pressing a specific sequence of keys unlocks a locked cellular phone. In some embodiments, the non-tactile 3D user interface conveys visual feedback to the user performing the focus and the unlock gestures.<\/p>\n

\u2018Examples of unlock gestures include an \u201cup\u201d gesture (e.g., raising hand 30 a specified distance), a sequence of two sequential wave gestures, and a sequence of two sequential push gestures, as described in detail hereinbelow.\u2019<\/p>\n

The 3D interface is not new to Apple. But granting this patent allows Apple to unlock virtual buttons and streamline elements of the user interface.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Apple fans are struggling to contend with the latest iOS 11 problem.<\/p>\n

Some customers have suggested that their phone automatically changes the word \u2018it to \u2018I.T\u2019, which is a rather old-fashioned acronym for \u2018information technology\u2019.<\/p>\n

Others claimed the word \u2018is\u2019 gets changed to \u2018I.S\u2019, which we assume refers to the Islamic State. A few people have been grumbling about the alleged issue on Twitter.<\/p>\n
