Egypt’s exports increased by 37.8% during the first eight months of this year, compared to the same period last year.<\/p>\n

Official data stated that Egypt’s exports continue to rise to exceed the repercussions of the Coronavirus pandemic on the global trade movement and the supply and supply chain crisis.<\/p>\n

Central Agency\u00a0for Public\u00a0Mobilization and Statistics\u00a0(CAPMAS<\/a>) said that Egypt’s exports rose to a level of $25.8 billion, compared to about $18.7 billion during the same period last year.<\/p>\n

Perhaps the liberalization of the exchange market and the floating of the Egyptian pound against the US dollar at the beginning of November 2016, was a watershed in the history of the Egyptian exports movement.<\/p>\n

Egypt’s exports<\/h2>\n

The data indicate an increase in the value of exports from a level of $22.5 billion in 2016 to about $26.3 billion in 2017. It continued to rise during 2018 to record $29.3 billion, then $30.5 billion in 2019, but it declined over the past year to a level of $29.3 billion.<\/p>\n

As for imports, they recorded about $69.6 billion in 2020, compared to about $76.4 billion in 2019, $81.9 billion in 2018, $66.6 billion in 2017, and $71.4 billion in 2016.<\/p>\n

The data reveal that the United States of America came at the top of the list of the top ten importing countries from Egypt during the first 8 months of this year, with the value of Egypt’s exports reaching $1.544 billion.<\/p>\n

In second place came India after the value of Egyptian exports to it amounted to about $1.524 billion. Italy came in third place with exports amounting to $1.506 billion. Saudi Arabia came in fourth with a value of 1.403 billion dollars.<\/p>\n

Turkey ranked fifth with exports worth about $1.280 billion, followed by Greece in sixth place with $1.009 billion, then China in seventh place with $986 million. Spain ranked eighth with a value of $937.5 million.<\/p>\n

The UAE came in ninth place with a value of $874 million, and finally Britain came in tenth place with a value of $732 million.<\/p>\n

The top ten countries accounted for 45.7% of the total value of Egyptian exports during the first 8 months of this year.<\/p>\n

According to the data, petroleum products ranked first in the list of the ten most important commodities exported by Egypt to various countries of the world during the first 8 months of this year, with a value reaching $3.6 billion.<\/p>\n

In second place, Egypt’s exports of crude oil came with a value of $1.7 billion, then ready-made clothes with a value of $1.3 billion, fertilizers with a value of $1.2 billion, fresh fruits with a value of $1.007 billion, and exports of plastics in their primary forms with a value of $1.005 billion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
