The global Amazon company has launched its e-commerce platform officially in Egypt replacing Souq.com.<\/p>\n
For more than 11 years, the Egyptian consumer has dealt with the Souq.com, even after it was acquired by Amazon in 2017.<\/p>\n
Souq.com used to provide its services in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the UAE. However, the brand has already changed during the last period to become Amazon in both Saudi Arabia and the UAE, but there were some delay for several months as for Egypt.<\/p>\n
Amazon confirmed that any balance for consumers on their wallets in Souq.com was transferred to their Amazon.eg account. It also confirmed that any orders made by consumers in advance on Souq.com will be delivered as usual.<\/p>\n
Earlier on Wednesday, Souq.com clients were sent text messages on their phones notifying them that their accounts, delivery addresses, wish lists, and payment methods have been migrated to Amazon.eg.<\/p>\n
The company advised its customers to download the Amazon application and select Egypt from the settings.<\/p>\n
Amazon Egypt explained that it combines the best of what Souq.com had to offer, in addition to the global capabilities of the company, which it describes to users every day.<\/p>\n
The company continued, \u201cWe provide millions of brands and high-quality products, including electronics, clothing, home and kitchen appliances, supermarket products, and many more.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Amazon Egypt website also allows shopping at the discounted prices that are used to from Souq.com, and provides various payment options using credit and direct debit cards and cash on delivery, in addition to fast and reliable delivery services.\u201d<\/p>\n
It is worth noting that Souq.com was launched in 2005 but started in Egypt in 2010.<\/p>\n
In a related context, Amazon Egypt announced dozens of vacancies for Egyptians, including 90 full-time jobs in various fields.<\/p>\n
The jobs available include software development and information technology engineers, central station supervisors, head of public policy, new programs manager, and other jobs.<\/p>\n
The company is also seeking software engineers, supervisors and program managers, as well as a large number of young interns in information technology and operations management.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
