Smartphone addiction causes a serious disorder in the brain,  recent scientific study conducted at the University of Korea<\/a> has found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The study also found that Smartphone addiction harms the work of the brain, causing chemical disturbances that can cause a state of severe anxiety and fatigue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the study, the participants addicted to using smartphones underwent a test known as MRS that analyzes the chemical organization in the brains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The researchers measured levels of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a chemical that slows down signals in the brain, and compared the proportion of GABA to another important neurotransmitter in people diagnosed with phone and Internet addiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The researchers said this could have some kind of profound effects on the way the brain works. Previous studies have linked this chemical to the way various brain functions are regulate, including anxiety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For his part, Hyung Suk Seo, a professor at Korea University who conducted the research, said that \u201cchanges in the brain can be associated with information processing problems and emotions\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The researchers explained that addiction to smartphone use destroyed brain productivity and sleep function.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
