{"id":184115,"date":"2021-01-10T16:21:00","date_gmt":"2021-01-10T16:21:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bnreport.com\/?p=184115"},"modified":"2021-01-10T16:21:08","modified_gmt":"2021-01-10T16:21:08","slug":"vaccines-distribution-and-investment-essential-to-economic-recovery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bnreport.com\/en\/vaccines-distribution-and-investment-essential-to-economic-recovery\/","title":{"rendered":"Vaccines distribution and investment essential to economic recovery"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">International indicators show that the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines and investment will be essential to the world&#8217;s economic recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Development risks remain high as economic activity and income are likely to remain low for an extended period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The global economy is likely to grow by 4% in 2021, assuming that the initial distribution of COVID-19 vaccines will become widespread during the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, a World Bank report said the recovery is likely to be slow, unless policymakers act decisively to curb the pandemic and implement reforms to boost investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although the global economy is growing again after shrinking by 4.3% in 2020, the pandemic has caused heavy human losses and pushed millions under poverty line, and may reduce economic activity and income for a long time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The top priority in terms of policy In the near term is to control the spread of the virus and ensure vaccines distribution on a large scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To support the economic recovery, the authorities will also need to facilitate a cycle of reinvestment aimed at less sustainable growth depending on government debt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Poor recovery<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=&amp;cad=rja&amp;uact=8&amp;ved=2ahUKEwjjo_e94ZHuAhVyo3EKHQWyBxgQFjAAegQIARAE&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.worldbank.org%2F&amp;usg=AOvVaw3jzRm3VzojjPCZLSoKVfIF\">World Bank Group<\/a> President David Malpass said the global economy has entered a weak recovery phase.
