European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen tested negative for the coronavirus, she said today.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am glad to communicate that my latest test result is negative. I took the test yesterday,\u201d von der Leyen said on Twitter<\/a>. She expressed her gratitude for the positive messages she had received and called on people to stay safe.<\/p>\n

Von der Leyen\u2019s chief spokesman, Eric Mamer, said<\/a> today that von der Leyen would soon return to Brussels, but he could not give details as he does \u201cnot know her exact calendar.\u201d Mamer also refused to disclose von der Leyen\u2019s exact location for \u201csecurity reasons.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked at a news conference on Tuesday for an update on von der Leyen\u2019s status, Mamer initially refused to disclose the president\u2019s location. Later in the news conference, he said that she was in Germany but did not specify if she was at her home in Hanover.<\/p>\n
